FilingEye

Questions

What people ask before they sign up, answered plainly.

Is it really free?

Yes. The Free plan runs the complete analysis (all 18 ratios, the forensic scores, footnote changes, key findings and sentiment) on three filings a month, 10-K and 10-Q only. Nothing in it is blurred or held back. Base ($14.99 a month) adds every filing type, a watchlist with email alerts and AI chat. Pro ($24.99) raises the limits and adds comparison against any earlier filing. See pricing.

Where do the numbers come from?

From the SEC’s EDGAR system. Ratios and forensic scores are computed by a fixed engine from the XBRL data the company itself filed, and every figure links back to the filing it came from so you can check it. We do not buy third-party data feeds.

What is computed and what is written by AI?

Numbers are computed, never generated: the ratios, the four forensic scores, the segment figures and the footnote comparison. The AI writes the executive summary, key findings, sentiment, materiality ratings and chat answers, and each is labeled as AI. Every finding carries the exact passage it rests on, and a claim whose passage cannot be found in the filing is downgraded and says so.

Does it tell me what to buy or sell?

No. FilingEye is a research tool, not investment advice, and it does not recommend any security. It shows you what a filing says and what changed, so you can decide. See the terms.

Which filings does it work on?

Every filing type can be analyzed. 10-K and 10-Q get the deepest analysis: summary, key findings, ratios against the prior period, forensic scores, sentiment and footnote changes. Earnings 8-Ks get a summary, basic ratios, findings and sentiment. Other 8-Ks, proxy statements, registration statements and insider forms get a summary, sentiment and chat, because they have no balance sheet to compute ratios from. The Free plan covers 10-K and 10-Q; Base and Pro cover every type.

How is this different from asking a general AI chatbot?

A chatbot writes figures from memory and can state them with confidence and be wrong. Here the figures are computed from the filing’s own data, the model is limited to the filing in front of it, and every claim links to the passage it came from. It is designed to decline rather than guess when the filing does not answer a question.

What does the Chrome extension do?

On a filing page at sec.gov it adds an Analyze with FilingEye button and opens the analysis in a side panel, so you read the filing and the analysis together. It runs on sec.gov only, sends us the filing’s public identifiers and not the page you are reading, and shares your account and allowances with the website. See the privacy policy.

How do the monthly allowances work?

Each plan has a monthly filing allowance and, from Base, a chat allowance. A filing counts once per billing period no matter how you reach it, chat is one pool shared by the website and the extension, and allowances reset on your subscription anniversary. Following companies is unlimited; analysis is what is metered. The terms set out all five rules.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Cancel any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Your first payment for a plan is refunded in full if you ask within 48 hours, whether or not you have used it, and an unused renewal is refunded in the same window. We offer a Free plan, so there is a way to try it before you pay. The details are on the refund policy page.

What happens to my data?

Filings are public documents. What is personal is your account, your chat questions and your watchlist, and we do not sell it, share it with other users or use it to train models. The privacy policy says exactly what is stored, where, for how long and who processes it.
